It's all quiet on the boating front at the moment, but the bulbs are beginning to shoot and the days are already discernably longer.
One item to keep us going is the ITV series "Hungry Sailors" where Dick Strawbridge (Coast/Masterchef and occasional mad professor slot) and his son James, are travelling along the south coast, having set out from Falmouth in a replic Scilly Isles Pilot Cutter.
As they call in at various ports and anchorage they forage the local hinterland for produce and then invite the producers to come on board and eat results.
Last stop (Friday 27/01) was Yarmouth and Newtown IOW where the produce was Rose veal, cherries, clotted cream and honey. Also included sweet making at the grockle area at the top of the Alum bay chair lift.
Broadcast at 16.00 on weekdays this week sees them further along the IOE, Hamble, Chichester, Littlehampton and Brighton.
Well worth a watch
